How this works as a classroom game

Skip Sprint LIVE turns times-tables practice into a multiplayer kart race. Up to 40 students join a hosted room from any device β€” phone, iPad, laptop β€” and race in parallel through the multiples of a chosen times table. The class watches the race-track on the projector; each student steers their own kart on their device.

Set-up (60 seconds)

Teacher picks a times table (Γ—2 through Γ—12), creates a room, shares the 6-letter code. Students enter the code on any device and pick a name. No login, no app β€” just go to the URL.

Race format

All students race simultaneously. Each correct multiple moves their kart forward; wrong multiples lose ground. The shared race-track shown on the projector means every kid can see where they sit vs. the class without seeing individual scores publicly.

Live engagement

SPACE zaps the player directly ahead β€” a 1.5-second brake clamp on the leader. Stops the same kid winning every race; keeps every student engaged because anyone can catch up.

Curriculum alignment

Times-tables fluency under social pressure. The multiplayer format means students try harder than they would in a worksheet β€” peer visibility creates real engagement. Aligns to AC v9 multiplication standards Year 2–6 (AC9M2N04, AC9M3N04, AC9M4N05, AC9M5N03) and US Common Core 3.OA.C.7, 4.NBT.B.5.

Student experience

Kids describe it as 'actually fun maths' β€” the rare combination of a real game (responsive controls, smooth animation, competitive stakes) with real practice (every action is a multiplication fact). Top-down race view, kart customisation by class colour, live leaderboard. Sessions typically run 5-10 minutes per race.

How it compares to Blooket and Kahoot

Built for the maths-classroom case Blooket and Kahoot don't quite hit: a single tightly-scoped maths concept (one times table per race) with continuous gameplay rather than question-then-wait-then-question. The kart mechanic gives students agency between questions β€” they're driving, dodging, picking moments to zap β€” instead of staring at a leaderboard waiting for the next prompt.
