Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
No Drama Koala is run by No Drama Studios, a one-person Australian business owned by a practising maths teacher. This page explains, in plain English, what information the site collects, why, and what happens to it.
The short version
- Students never create accounts and are never asked for their name, email, or any other personal details. Live games use self-chosen nicknames that are deleted when the game room expires.
- Teachers only give us an email address if they choose to β for downloads, purchases, or the newsletter.
- We use anonymous analytics to see which games and resources are useful.
- We do not sell personal information, and we show no ads targeted at children.
Information we collect
From teachers
- Email address. If you download a free resource, join the newsletter, or buy a bundle, we collect your email address so we can deliver files and β if you opt in β send occasional updates about new resources. Emails are stored with Supabase (our database provider) and sent through Resend (our email provider). Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Purchase details. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and payment details to process the transaction and send your receipt. We never see or store your card number.
From students
- A display name, avatar, and score β during live games only. When a class plays a live multiplayer game, each student picks a nickname and an avatar. That nickname, avatar, and their score exist only for the duration of the game session, are visible only to the class playing in that room, and are deleted automatically when the room expires β within hours. A server-side filter blocks profanity and attempts to impersonate others, and game room pages are not indexed by search engines. Students are asked for a nickname to show their class β never their real name, an email address, or any other personal details.
- That is the full list. There are no student accounts, no student emails, and no student profiles β the site is deliberately built that way.
Automatically
- Anonymous usage analytics. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, which games are played, and where visitors run into problems. Clarity records anonymised session interactions (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) so we can find and fix confusing parts of the site. These tools use cookies and anonymous identifiers; they do not receive names or email addresses.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and your browser's local storage for:
- Preferences β things like sound and display settings.
- Game progress β so a game can pick up where you left off, stored on your own device.
- Anonymous analytics identifiers β set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to tell visits apart without identifying you personally.
We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
Third-party services
We keep the list short. Each provider only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Google Analytics 4 β anonymous usage statistics.
- Microsoft Clarity β anonymised session recordings to improve usability.
- Stripe β payment processing for purchases (sees your email and payment details).
- Supabase β database hosting (stores teacher emails and short-lived live-game data).
- Resend β sends our emails (resource delivery and the newsletter).
- Vercel β hosts the website (standard server logs).
Children's privacy
This site is built for classrooms, so it is designed so that students never provide personal information:
- There are no student accounts or sign-ins.
- Live games ask for a nickname β a display name shown to their class β never a real name, email address, or contact details.
- Live-game nicknames, avatars, and scores are deleted automatically when the room expires.
- We show no advertising targeted at children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site is designed to comply with children's privacy laws, including COPPA in the United States and the GDPR's requirements for children's data in the EU and UK. If you believe a child has submitted personal information β for example, used their full name as a nickname and you would like it removed sooner than the automatic clean-up β email hello@nodramakoala.com and we will remove it promptly.
Data retention
- Teacher emails β kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Live game data (nicknames, avatars, scores) β deleted automatically when the room expires, within hours of the game ending.
- Purchase records β kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Analytics β retained under Google's and Microsoft's standard retention settings.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe from emails (there is a link in every email we send).
- Ask what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information.
Email hello@nodramakoala.com and we will sort it out β no forms, no hoops. Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, and Australia), you may have additional rights under local privacy law; we honour reasonable requests from anywhere.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the newsletter.
