πŸ”΄Percentman LIVE

Live multiplayer percentages score-attack

Percent-themed Fracman variant β€” target is a percentage, pellets are equivalent values across %, decimal, fraction. Practises FDP conversions under live pressure.

Equivalent percentages + FDP conversions
  • β€’Percentage target β€” eat values equivalent to it
  • β€’FDP conversion practice (50% = 0.5 = 1/2)
  • β€’First to 25 equivalents wins

How this works as a classroom game

Percentman LIVE extends the Fracman / Decimon multiplayer maze to FDP conversion. Students see a target percentage and eat any pellet showing an equivalent value β€” across percent, decimal, fraction. The cross-representation format is the strongest case for a multiplayer maths game in Year 5–6 β€” every pellet is a real FDP conversion under pressure.

Set-up (60 seconds)

Teacher picks a target percentage (50%, 25%, 10%, etc.) via the wave selector, creates a room, shares the code. Up to 40 students join.

Cross-form gameplay

The maze contains a mix of pellets: '25%', '0.25', '1/4', '2/8'. Students eat ALL equivalents regardless of form. Wrong-form pellets ('25', '0.025', '2.5%') deduct points. Direct training for FDP conversion fluency.

Tournament finals

End the session with a 'champion round' on a harder wave β€” surfaces the actual strongest student under the hardest cross-form pressure. Great for term-end consolidation lessons.

Curriculum alignment

FDP conversion fluency, which is one of the most assessed and least-taught-well topics in Year 5–6. Aligned to AC v9 (AC9M5N02, AC9M6N01) and US Common Core 6.RP.A.3.C. Especially valuable in the pre-NAPLAN / pre-test windows.

Student experience

Same maze engagement, harder content. Year 6 students who'd otherwise dismiss 'percentage practice' as boring will play multiple rounds. The cross-form challenge forces real understanding rather than form-specific memorisation.

How it compares to Blooket and Kahoot

Specifically targets the FDP conversion deficit that general quiz platforms can't drill effectively. Blooket and Kahoot can quiz on '25% = 1/4' but they can't deliver the SAME concept in 50 variations across 5 minutes in a way that builds cross-form recognition speed.
